new year, new things

Hi all! Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and a great start to 2008! Our Christmas was fabulous as always...love, love, love having family here. The kids are just as spoiled as always. Jenna got a new electric scooter, it's really cool, it looks just like a vespa scooter, and it's purple. I'll get some pictures soon. She also got 2 new american girl dolls, numerous outfits, a DS, tons of games, books and clothes....lucky girl I tell ya. Jacob wanted a motorcycle for Christmas....um...NOT! We told him he should ask for a bike and learn how to ride a two wheeler, and then maybe when he turned 5 he could get the dirt bike. Well, Christmas morning, Santa left him a cool motorcycle bike(with real sounds), but no training wheels. Jacob says..."I don't need the training wheels". So we take him outside and get him on it.....Well he rode it!!! This is is first real bike and the little turd skipped over the training wheels part...breaks my heart. We are very proud of him tho. Then, since Jenna got her new scooter she gave him her old one....he is still to young for that(it says 8&up), but get's on it and away he goes! Kills me I tell ya! So fast forward to today. The kids have been begging to take ice skating lessons, but we could never make the lessons with cheerleading and swimming. So today they started. I was one proud momma, they did so good. I knew Jenna would be able to do it, she's older so I figured it would be easier. She did great, hardly fell and was skating all over. Jacob started the class holding the wall, then they taught them how to fall and walk....all the basics. Well by the end of the hour, he was skating just as good as Jenna! The instructor came over and siad she was so impressed with how well he did for such a young kid! It was just so cute. He has 7 more lessons then he get's to sign up for hockey, something he has wanted to do for the past year...He is gonna look so cute in the gear!!! Anyway, so here are a few pictures, the lighting was horrible, so not great, but their first day none the less.

Is it still snowing where you are? We are having terrible weather in Cali. :( Doesn't even look like cali! :) Love the black and whites!

By the way, somehow I lost your email address but email me at this new address when you get a minute. I'm working on a new website and am trying to get started in children's photography...would love your feedback on it before it is up and running!

Hi Michelle! Thanks for the comment on my blog; I always get a rush from getting a comment from a REAL DEAL photographer! Your pictures of the ice covering the plants were amazing. Somehow you even made ice look appealing ;)

You are such an inspiration. I love your photos. I stumbled across your posts nearly a year ago and I'm a frequent visitor and I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your work:)

oh these shots are so cute and documentary. reminds me to take my kids this weekend ice skating!

Oh they look so cute but grown-up! I can't wait to see the pictures of the scooter. Santa was eyeing that for Makenzie but settled on something else instead. Colson did get the motorcycle/bike too. Sounds like we had the same Chistmas! Darn spoiled kids! Can't wait to see more.
